WINDING TECHNOLOGY SERIES W400 / W500 / W600 CALENDERING Series W400 / W500 / W600 for calendering lines Series W400 / W500 jumbo roll winders can produce rolls with diameters of up to 2,000mm, which minimises the downtimes caused by roll changes in inhouse thermoforming applications. Each winder consists of two A-frame winding trolleys with 3- or 6-inch pneumatic winding shafts. The twin-trolley principle means that while one trolley is in active operation, the other is on stand-by for a roll change. the control panel and the winding speed accelerated thus releasing the lm stored in the accumulator. Series W600 cantilever winders operate according to the same principles as mentioned above, although xed winding stations with cantilever shafts are used instead of A-frame winding trolleys. This allows simple roll removal using a manually operated forklift, which again eases the burden on the machine operators. Series W400 winders In the case of inline, part-bobbin slitting, a maximum of three webs can be produced. The winders are arranged in sequence and combined with one upstream accumulator. This is activated during bobbin changes and takes up the lm, while all the subsequent take-off units and winders are stopped. As a result of their design, the winders are easy and safe to operate. Pneumatically actuated cross cutting stations are located above each of the winders and these cut and remove the web automatically in accordance with the pre-set length. The operator merely has to attach the sheet onto a new core and then presses a foot pedal so that a few layers of sheet are wound on.
