Technology Overview
The PROFILEMASTER SPS systems are advanced in-line profile measurement systems designed for hot and cold steel applications. They utilize 4 to 8 cameras to capture and measure any shape in real-time, offering features such as roundness/polygonality mode for round products, surface fault detection, and high sampling rates up to 1000 per second. These systems provide highly accurate measurements, early detection of process problems, and reliable operation in harsh conditions up to 1200°C. They also support network capability and eliminate the need for manual measurements.

Measuring Principle
The system operates on the laser triangulation principle using light-section sensors. Each sensor includes a laser transmitter and a CMOS camera, arranged in an octagonal metrology to capture complete product shape information. The system supports precise measurements of various dimensions and can import profile shapes using DXF files. A case study highlighted significant cost savings and increased production capacity due to the system's efficiency.

In-Line Rebar Measurement
The Rebar Software option allows for the measurement of characteristic dimensions of rebar products during in-line production. It generates a section profile with inner and outer contours for measurement, and results can be stored for later analysis. The system can measure up to 4 strands in parallel.

Specifications
The PROFILEMASTER SPS models (200-Sx, 400-Sx, 550-Sx) vary in camera number and measuring field size. They support scanning frequencies up to 1 KHz and display resolutions of 0.001 mm. The systems operate within a temperature range of -20 to +45°C and can handle product temperatures up to 1200°C. They are classified as Class 3B laser products.

The system includes a profile measuring unit, local processing and operation unit, processing and display unit, blower unit, and cooling unit. Customers must supply power, compressed air, and cooling water. The system's approximate weight is 560 kg, with identical outer dimensions across models.
