Panex® 30 woven carbon fiber fabrics

Panex® 30 woven carbon fiber fabrics

Product catalog summary
Description: Panex® 30 Woven Carbon Fabrics are designed for tailorability by controlling the yield on rovings and yarns, allowing for various composite thicknesses. The spun yarns have surface fibrils that enhance cross-ply tensile and interlaminar shear strengths, and they conform to contours without wrinkling. The fabrics undergo a vacuum graphitizing process, resulting in thermal stability and chemical purity with a low oxidation rate.
Applications: These fabrics are used in low-cost carbon-carbon materials and processes requiring chemical vapor infiltration or prepregging.
Material Overview: The datasheet provides specifications for Satin Weave (SW08) and Plain Weave (PW03, PW06) fabrics, including areal weight, yarn count, thickness, standard widths, roll length, yarn input, carbon content, density, and oxidation rate.
Typical Packaging: Fabrics are wound on a 3-inch diameter core, sealed in plastic, and placed in a cardboard box. Standard box dimensions are provided for different fabric widths.
Certification: Panex® 30 Fabrics are manufactured according to Zoltek’s published data, with a Certificate of Conformance provided with each shipment.
Safety: Users are advised to read and understand the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before using the product.

Technical Datasheet Panex® 30 Fabric (PW03, PW06, SW08) Graphitized Spun Yarn Carbon Fabric Description Panex® 30 Woven Carbon Fabrics tailorability results from controlling the yield on rovings and yarns, and allows for a variety of finished composite thicknesses. The spun yarns have many surface fibrils that protrude in various directions at various lengths from the surface. This fiber loft contributes to high cross-ply tensile and interlaminar shear strengths for 2-D composite materials. Contour conformation without wrinkling is another advantage of spun yarn fabrics. Panex® 30 materials undergo a vacuum graphitizing process and long temperature soak, resulting in a very thermally stable and chemically pure fabric with low oxidation rate.
