Product catalog summary
Description: Panex® 35 Flake Type chopped fibers are designed for easy impregnation with thermoset resins, allowing for the molding of complex shapes. These fibers create composites with high strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratios. They can also be used in thermoplastic applications as a cost-effective alternative, replacing a portion of the matrix-specific product with minimal impact on composite properties.
Recommended Use: Suitable for use with thermoset resins such as Epoxy, Vinyl Ester, Unsaturated Polyester, and Phenolic. Applicable industries include automotive, aerospace, chemical, construction, military, and sporting goods.
Material Overview: Fiber lengths available are 3, 6, and 13 mm (0.125, 0.25, and 0.50 inches). The unpacked bulk density is 350 g/L (22 lb/ft³), with a sizing content of 1.5% by weight and a maximum moisture content of 0.50%.
Certification: The product is manufactured according to Zoltek’s standards and comes with a Certificate of Conformance. It is certified under ISO 9001 and AS9100 by Bureau Veritas.
Typical Packaging: Each pallet contains 45 boxes, with a net weight of 1,800 lb (816 kg). Each box measures 14.5” x 14.5” x 14.5” and contains 40 lbs (18.1 kg) of fiber. Fibers are also available in 500 lb (227 kg) super sacks.
Safety: Users must obtain and understand the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before using the product.

Technical Datasheet Panex® 35 Chopped Fiber (Type -13) Flake-Type Chopped Carbon Fiber Description Panex® 35 Flake Type chopped fibers provide ready impregnation of thermoset resins, with the capability to mold complex shapes. The resultant carbon fiber/ resin matrix composites offer high strength-to-weight and stiffness-toweight ratios. Panex® 35 Flake Type chopped fibers may also be used as a low-cost alternative in thermoplastic applications, whereby a small portion of the matrix-specific product can be replaced with chopped flake carbon fibers with negligible impact to composite properties. Recommended Use Thermoset resins: Epoxy, Vinyl Ester, Unsaturated Polyester, and Phenolic. Applications Automotive, aerospace, chemical industry, construction, military, sporting goods.
