Product catalog summary
General Information
ZIRCAR Ceramics’ Alumina Type ZAL-45 is a high-density, high-strength refractory material composed of high-alpha polycrystalline alumina fibers and high-purity inorganic binders. It features a fine open-pore structure with a bulk density of 0.72g/cc, offering high strength and low thermal conductivity at elevated temperatures. ZAL-45 maintains dimensional stability up to 1650°C and can withstand intermittent use up to 1700°C. It is highly machinable, exhibits high electrical resistivity, and is microwave and RF transparent at high temperatures. The material is pure white with high reflectance and is resistant to chemical attack, except by hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid, and strong alkalis.
