Materials

Pressure-Temperature Ratings

Graphs and tables specify allowable working pressure ranges at various temperatures for different body materials and pressure classes:

• PN 16 with EN-GJL-250 grey cast iron
• PN 16 and PN 25 with EN-GJS-400-18-LT nodular cast iron
• PN 40 with GP240GH cast steel

These ratings ensure safe operation within specified temperature and pressure limits.

Valve Types

The 287 series includes multiple types differentiated by body material, nominal pressure, nominal diameter, and internal construction:

• Type A: Grey cast iron, PN 16, DN 15-300, max temp 300°C
• Type C: Nodular cast iron, PN 16, DN 15-200, max temp 350°C
• Type D: Nodular cast iron, PN 25, DN 15-200, max temp 350°C
• Type E: Bronze, PN 16, DN 15-125, max temp 225°C
• Type F: Cast steel, PN 40, DN 15-200, max temp 400°C

Each type offers options for loose disc with or without spring, with internal parts made of stainless steel or bronze, and some with PTFE disc gaskets for enhanced sealing.

Ordering Information

Orders should specify the product number (index) which includes the series number (287), nominal diameter (e.g., 040 for DN40), body material code (A, C, E, F), and type code (e.g., 31 for loose disc with spring and stainless steel internals). Example: 287 040 C 31 indicates a grey cast iron body, DN40, PN16, type 31 valve.
