The KRONOS moving column machine offers a range of travel dimensions: longitudinal travel from 3,000 to 7,000 mm, cross travel of 1,200 mm (expandable to 1,600 or 2,000 mm), and vertical travel of 1,600 mm (expandable to 2,000 mm). The working feed rate is 25,000 mm/min for the longitudinal axis and 30,000 mm/min for both cross and vertical axes. Rapid feed rates are 30,000 mm/min for the longitudinal axis and 35,000 mm/min for the cross and vertical axes. The machine is powered by a 40 kW motor and features a spindle head speed of 4,500 min-1, with an optional increase to 6,000 min-1. Positioning accuracy is 0.008 mm per 4,000 mm, and repeatability accuracy is 0.005 mm per 4,000 mm, compliant with ISO 230-2: 2006 standards.
The longitudinal axis uses a rack and double motor with pinion, while both the cross and vertical axes utilize ball screws.
The standard tool magazine holds 30 tools, with optional expansions to 40, 60, or 80 tools.
Available accessories include various heads such as a 45º automatic head with 360,000 positions and 0.001º precision, a 45º head with continuous rotation, a 30º head with 360,000 positions or continuous rotation, and a 30º head with an electrospindle. Additional accessories include a coolant tank with 22 + 5 bar pressure, a fixed floor table, a complete enclosure with a ceiling, and a longitudinal goose neck chip conveyor.
The machine can be equipped with a rotary table for milling and turning operations, available as standard or optional.
