Product catalog summary
Overview of Activated Carbon Filters
Activated carbon filters are used to absorb impurities, reduce odors, taste substances, bacteria, VOCs, pesticides, and decolor fluids. There are two main types: filters with granulated carbon and those with porous activated carbon blocks. The performance of these filters depends on the flow direction, either axial or radial.

Types of Activated Carbon Filters
  • GAC (Granular Activated Carbon): Features a radial flow with a 20 μm post-filter. It is primarily used for reducing odors and taste substances in drinking water. The GAC cartridge includes a pre-filter and post-filter to retain activated carbon and its abrasion.
  • CBC (Activated Carbon Block): Utilizes a 0.5 μm filter rating with radial flow. It is effective in reducing odors, taste substances, VOCs, and pesticides. The construction includes internal and external PP-felt for a clean filtration process.
  • EP (Activated Carbon Block): Offers a 5 μm filter rating with radial flow. It is used for reducing odors, taste substances, and particle filtration. Available in lengths from 9 ¾” to 40”.
  • EPM (Activated Carbon Block): Provides a 10 μm filter rating with radial flow. It is used for reducing odors, taste substances, and particle filtration.
  • WFAK (Activated Carbon Block): Features a 5 μm filter rating with radial flow. It is available in standard and BigBlue versions, offering high absorption and flow rate capacity.

Technical Specifications
  • Filter mediums vary from granular activated carbon to activated carbon blocks.
  • Temperature tolerance ranges from 50°C to 80°C depending on the filter type.
  • Available in various lengths and diameters to fit standard and BigBlue housings.

Applications and Benefits
  • Reduction of organic and non-organic impurities in water.
  • De-chlorination and de-coloring of fluids.
  • High absorption and flow rate capacities.
  • FDA and NSF certifications for certain models.

Important Notices
  • Service life is measured based on 90% de-chlorination of free chlorine particles.
  • It is recommended to rinse the activated carbon cartridge before use to remove any black carbon powder.

Activated Carbon Filters GAC Activated carbon cartridge with granular activated carbon The GAC cartridge is filled with granular activated carbon with a radial flow from bottom to top. Consequently it has a corresponding contact-time with the activated carbon. A pre-filter made of polypropylenefelt as well as a post-filter made of polypropylene melt-blow material with 20 µm filter ration retain the activated carbon and the activated carbon abrasion. GAC Cartridges are mainly used in the reduction of odour- and taste substances from drinking water. GAC Activated carbon cartridge with granular...
