5WPS Pressure Switch

Product catalog summary
Description & Features:
The 5WPS Pressure Switch features a robust cast aluminum housing compliant with NEMA 4X, 12, and 13 standards. It includes a precise switching mechanism activated by a diaphragm. Available configurations include 1 or 2 SPDT electric switches, with options for tandem settings for DPDT operation, independent High-Low operation, adjustable switch differential (deadband), and manual reset for pressure changes. The switches can be equipped with low switch differentials, high direct current ratings, gold contacts, and hermetically sealed contacts. A 1-year warranty is provided.

Applications:
This pressure switch is commonly used in pumping stations and remote locations, ideal for High-Low level control requiring dual elements.

Installation Notes:
The device operates in any position, but vertical mounting is recommended for ease of adjustment and to minimize sediment in the pressure chamber. Wiring can be done to 'normally open' or 'normally closed' terminals. The standard pressure connection is 1/4" NPT female, with a 1/2" NPT male option available. Pressure adjustment is done by turning the adjustment nut clockwise to increase the setpoint. Detailed installation and calibration instructions are included with each shipment.

Specifications:
- Housing: Cast aluminum
- Pressure Connection: 1/4” NPT female standard, 1/2” NPT male available
- Electrical Connection: 1/2” NPT
- Port Material: Aluminum for diaphragm actuated, SS with silver braze for bellows actuated
- Diaphragm Material: Buna N, Teflon® protected
- Deadband: Fixed
- Sensitivity: 0.5% of range (for SPDT)
- Drift: <1% of range (100,000 operations)
- Contact Ratings: 15A - 125, 250, 480 VAC
- Set Point Adjustment: Screw type, field adjustable
- Number of Contacts: One or Two SPDT, One DPDT
- Maximum Ambient Temperature: 180°F (82°C)
- Minimum Ambient Temperature: -20°F (-29°C) for diaphragm actuated, -40°F (-40°C) for bellows actuated
- Weight: Approx. 3 lbs
- Pressure Range: Diaphragm Actuated: 15 to 300 PSI, Bellows Actuated: 15 to 5000 PSI

Deadband Notes:
The deadband values listed are the maximum switch differentials for Type 1 or Type 2 electric switches. The deadband is influenced by the switch type:
- Type 1 Low Deadband: Use table values
- Type 2 Standard Deadband: Use table values
- Type 3 High DC Rated: Multiply Type 2 values by two
- Type 4 Hermetically Sealed Switch: Multiply Type 2 values by six
- Type 6 Gold Contact: Use Type 2 values

Ordering Information:
For bellows actuated models, use 'B' in the series number. Leave blank for diaphragm actuated models. The tables provide detailed pressure ranges, maximum deadbands, and working pressures for different configurations.
