WinSystems' RISER boards are designed to add extra space in stacks of PC/104, PC/104-Plus, or SUMIT-ISM modules. These printed circuit boards (PCBs) are equipped with bus connectors to facilitate the passage of data, control signals, power, and ground up the stack. This design allows boards with tall components or heat sinks to be placed within the stack, not just at the top. The standard separation provided is 0.60 inches using PC/104-type spacers.
The RISER PCBs serve as a mounting platform for various connectors, including the 104-pin PC/104 connector, 120-pin PCI-104 connector, or two 52-pin SUMIT connectors. They feature two 0.125-inch diameter mounting holes that align with standoff locations. RISER boards are also available without connectors to enhance module stack rigidity.
For special configurations of adapter boards, single board computers, I/O modules, or cables, contact an Applications Engineer at (817) 274-7553 or via email at [email protected].

Extender Boards Stackable PC/104, PC/104-Plus, and SUMIT-ISMTM Risers Features • Pass through boards for PC/104, PC/104-Plus, and SUMIT-ISM™ modules • Provides additional space between boards for tall components, heat sinks, and other thermal solutions • RISER boards available with and without connectors RISER-PCM-1 • Operating temperature: -40° to +85°C • RoHS compliant • Includes nylon standoffs Product Description WinSystems’ RISER boards are designed to provide extra space in PC/104, PC/104-Plus, or SUMIT-ISM modules’ stack. They are printed circuit boards (PCBs) populated with bus connectors to allow the data and control signals, power and ground to pass up the stack. This allows a board with either tall components or heat sinks to be placed in a stack of boards in a location other than only at the top. The additional separation is 0.60 inches using standard PC/104-type spacers. The RISER PCBs provide a mounting platform for the 104-pin PC/104 connector, 120-pin PCI-104 connector, or two 52pin SUMIT connectors. There are two 0.125-inch diameter mounting holes in the PCB that correspond to the standoff locations. RISER boards are also available without connectors to add rigidity to a module stack.
