Professionally cleaned tools are the key to high quality film production. Die contamination is a frequent cause of quality problems. For instance, melt buildup particles may come loose and appear as gel in the blown film. To prevent this from happening, W&H offers a special die cleaning service program ranging from non-abrasive cleaning to complete repair of the extrusion tool. Service scope: • Preparing the die for cleaning • Cleaning in the pyrolysis cleaning oven • Stripping the die into its components • Quality inspection of melt contact parts as well as electric components, heaters, and OPTIFIL P elements, refinishing/replacement as necessary • Reassembly and final checkup, including electric parts Advantages: • Flawless quality products • Non-abrasive cleaning ensuring gentle treatment of die parts • Professional assembly • Relieving your staff of die cleaning work Service schedule: depending upon the state of repair of the die or as agreed Before: Heavily contaminated and still covered with melt – the main melt distributor prior to first cleaning. After: Professionally cleaned predistributor after cleaning in the pyrolysis oven. The main melt distributor – now "as new" – prior to final reassembly.
