This may, for example, be for reasons of reliability, as any fault or cable failure on a single line does not affect the other communications. LA-10 is intended for rack mounting and can be used together with 15 devices from the Westermo rack mount product range. Equipment with an RS-232 interface can be connected to LA-10 and it is possible to attain data rates up to 19.2 kbit/s on each channel.
