Features

The balance valve setting should be at least 1.3 times the load pressure.
Backpressure at port 2 increases the relief setting by (1 + pilot ratio) times the backpressure.
Reseat pressure exceeds 85% of set pressure under standard settings; lower settings may reduce reseat percentages.

Operation

The counterbalance valve with pilot assist is designed to control an overrunning load. It allows free flow from the directional valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) and controls flow from port 1 to port 2 using a direct-acting, pilot-assisted relief valve. Pilot assist at port 3 reduces the effective relief valve setting based on the pilot ratio.
