Operation

The dual counterbalance valve provides static and dynamic load control by regulating the flow in and out of the actuator through ports C1 and C2. It consists of two sections, each with a check valve and a relief valve that is pilot-assisted by pressure in the opposite line. The check valve allows free flow into the actuator and locks the load against reverse movement. When pilot pressure is applied, the relief valve's pressure setting is reduced proportionally, allowing controlled reverse flow. Back-pressure at V1 or V2 adds to the pressure settings in all functions.
