Level Measurement

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides a comprehensive overview of WEKA Visual Level Indicators (VLIs), detailing their design principles, components, and applications. It highlights the modular design, versatility, and reliability of the WEKA VLI system, which is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
Design Principles: The WEKA VLI operates on a single-pole magnet system, utilizing a permanent bar magnet for reliable activation of visual indicators, switches, and transmitters. The system includes a patented magnetic guide tape for alignment and magnetic coupling for stability. The materials used ensure temperature stability and compact design allows for use with various liquid types.
Key Features: The WEKA VLI system is multifunctional, serving as a level indicator, switch, and transmitter. It is energy-free, requiring no electrical power for operation, and offers excellent readability with color-contrasted flags. The system is versatile, with a choice of materials including stainless steel, nickel alloys, and engineered plastics, allowing customization for specific applications.
Specifications: The document lists various series and types of VLIs, detailing their operating pressure, temperature range, pipe size, and minimum density requirements. The VLIs can handle pressures from vacuum to 500 bar and temperatures from -196°C to +400°C, making them suitable for applications like cryogenic gases and steam boilers.
Components: The WEKA VLI system includes indication rails, magnetic switches, transmitters, and measuring scales. Indication rails are maintenance-free and provide reliable readouts. Magnetic switches offer level detection and can be used in explosive atmospheres. Transmitters provide continuous electrical signals for remote monitoring.
Applications: WEKA VLIs are used in various industries, including chemical processing, shipbuilding, power plants, and petrochemical industries. They are designed to meet specific customer requirements and can be adapted for unique operating conditions.
Company Background: The document briefly outlines the history of WEKA, highlighting its growth and integration into the ARCA Flow Group. It emphasizes WEKA's commitment to quality, flexibility, and sustainability, supported by certifications like ISO 9001 and ATEX.

l Single-pole Magnet System The WEKA VLI operating principle is based on the use of a permanent bar magnet system which ensures the safe and reliable activation of visual indication elements (flags), switches and transmitters, even when used on thick-wall high-pressure indicator pipe. l Magnetic Guide Tape The patented magnetic guide tape is integrated within the indication rail to ensure the float bar magnet is always aligned like a compass needle to the polarized flags and switches. This ensures continuous reliabi lity of the indicating, switching and transmitter control functions. l Magnetic...

integrated shut-off valves l Wide range of operating conditions Operating pressures can be from vacuum to 500 bar. Float chambers are available with design pressures up to 630 bar. Liquid densities > 0.3 g/cm3 and media temperatures from 77 K to 673 K (–196 °C to +400 °C) allow use for applications like cryo enic liquid gases LPG/LNG, water g hydraulics and steam boilers. Closed floats are available for most liquids at pressures up to 350 bar. Open floats are available for non condensating liquids at pressures up to 630 bar. l Energy-free, reliable operation WEKA VLIs are ideally suited for plant...

High Pressure – Power Engineered Plastic l Excellent Readability The wide colour contrasted indicating flags are easily and clearly readable, even from far distances. The flag elements are nor mally red and aluminum coloured, but can be optionally ordered with alternative colour combinations. Difficult liquids in corrosive and high/low temperature applications do not effect the reliable functioning of WEKA VLIs, because the liquid inside the float chamber is totally isolated from the indication rail. For the same reason, readability is not impaired by turbid conditions. l Level Measurement à...

WEKA VLI Standard, Type 34300-K Magnetic switches are available in various versions Indication Rails The indication rails of WEKA VLIs are never in contact with the process media, and are consequently maintenance-free. The flags of these indication rails are 36 mm wide, and therefore easily read even from far distances. The lightweight flags are mag netically coupled to each other and respond positively even at float displacement speeds of 2 meters per second. The special design of WEKA VLIs ensures reliable readout at all times: the flags hold their positions even in the presence of vibration...

Competence · Partnership Quality · Flexibility · Sustainability Keeping Liquids and Gases under control Learn more about the history of the WEKA and how WEKA has managed to reach the top of the world market! 1940 Arthur Welter and August Karrer founded WEKA. Purpose of the business was manufacture and sale of lead fittings. Within only two years it became necessary to move into larger production facilities. The original version of the WEKA Magnetic Level Indicator was patented. WEKA moved ahead in the area of measurement and control technology. WEKA produced the first cryogenic valves and couplings....
