VR-600 For cleaning drinking water reservoirs and water towers Traditional cleaning processes of water towers and drinking water reservoirs meant that they had to be emptied and manually cleaned, or by sending down divers into the water. Emptying a reservoir is timeconsuming, and the cleaning is labor-intensive. Sending divers down in drinking water also entails a risk of contaminating the water. When we developed the VR-600, our ambition was to design a robot that could clean efficiently without having to shut down the reservoir and without sending personnel down. Description The VR-600 is remote-controlled and equipped with a rotating brush and a powerful pump that directly pumps out all loosened sediment without increasing the turbidity of the water. The robot is also equipped with a video camera and lights that facilitate operation inside the reservoir, allowing the operator to have an excellent view of the work. The system can therefore also be used for visual inspections of the physical structure inside the reservoir. The operators also have full remote control of the robot to have the right speed to avoid creating turbidity. The entire cleaning or inspection process can be documented on CD, DVD, and Digital.
