Colloid Mills

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Waukesha Cherry-Burrell Colloid Mills are designed to enhance product flow and efficiency. They offer up to 50% more flow rate with less heat generation compared to other mills, thanks to larger openings and a unique design that does not affect product movement.
Key Features:
  • Greater Capacity: The mills provide increased flow rates without additional heat, improving efficiency.
  • Easy Clearance Adjustment: A simple, calibrated ring allows for precise clearance settings between .010 and .240 inches, adjustable in increments of .001. This feature reduces errors and downtime, and adjustments can be made during operation or when stopped.
  • Easy Cleaning: The stator can be removed without tools, offering complete visibility for cleaning. Depending on the application, cleaning can also be performed in place.
  • Durability: The design ensures longer bearing and seal life as the shaft and bearing positions are independent of clearance adjustments. This results in quieter operation.
  • Ease of Disassembly: With only seven basic parts, the mill is quick and easy to disassemble for cleaning and inspection.
Design Features:
  • Waukesha Cherry-Burrell Design: Features a serrated conical stator and rotating cone for emulsification. The stator, not the shaft, is adjusted for clearance, ensuring fixed positions for the shaft, bearings, and seals.
  • Conventional Design Comparison: Traditional mills require shaft movement for clearance adjustments, which can lead to wear and errors.

Colloid Mills-1

Colloid Mill For producing, controlled, highly sheared, uniform emulsified products Greater Capacity Waukesha Cherry-Burrell Colloid Mills dispense product inline through larger openings. Clearance setting does not effect product movement. You get up to 50% more flow rate with less heat than other mills. Easy Clearance Adjustment Just set a simple, calibrated ring. It locks in position in increments of .001 between .010 and .240 inches. No special tools. Less chance for error. Less downtime. Clearance adjustment can be made ‘on the fly’ during operation or when stopped. Easy Cleaning With the stator removed, you gain complete visibility. Comes off without tools. Also can be cleaned in place depending on application. Longer bearing & seal life Shaft and bearing position is independent of clearance adjustment, so heavy duty, pre-loaded bearings can be used for longer life. Runs quieter, too. Easy to Disassemble With only seven basic parts to the mill. Cleaning and inspection are quick and easy.
