Installation Procedure

Drill a hole in the section to be heated, ensuring proper diameter and tolerance for optimal heat transfer.
Ream the hole smoothly for better contact.
If a through hole is not possible, adjust the hole size within tolerance limits.
Minimize vibration and flexing of lead wires to extend service life.
Protect the heater end from liquid contamination.

Specifications
WATTCO™ cartridge heaters are constructed from grade 321 stainless steel, ensuring moisture resistance. They come with standard 10” long fiberglass insulated nickel leads, with options for longer or spliced leads available upon request. The heaters feature a welded end cap for a gas-tight seal.

Lead Wire Options
Alternative lead wire constructions include silicon potting, Teflon seals, and Teflon leads. Additional mechanical protection can be provided with cable or stainless steel braided sleeving.

Thermocouple Integration
Built-in J or K thermocouples are available, and an additional ground wire can be added to the sheath for special code requirements.

Threaded Bushing
For immersed applications, stainless steel bushings are recommended for temperatures over 750°F, while brass is suitable for temperatures under 750°F.
