Product catalog summary
Overview
The Trowal Turbotron centrifugal disk finishing systems, model range TT…-A/2C, offer significantly higher grinding performance compared to traditional vibratory surface finishing equipment. These systems are designed for tasks such as heavy burr removal, edge breaking, fine grinding, surface smoothing, and high gloss polishing of small to midsize mass-produced parts.

Operating Principle
The system utilizes centrifugal force generated by a rotating spinner (60 – 250 RPM) to accelerate the media and workpieces, pushing them up the inner wall of a stationary work bowl. Gravity then causes them to slide back onto the spinner, repeating the process.

Double Batch Principle
This system allows for simultaneous processing and separation of parts, minimizing idle times. While one batch is being separated, another is processed, making it ideal for automated finishing processes.

Design and Features
  • Fluid movement of parts and media due to optimized work bowl and spinner geometry.
  • Adjustable water level for varying process intensities.
  • Variable spinner speed controlled by a frequency inverter.
  • Automatic gap size adjustment with high precision (0.01 mm accuracy).
  • Gap rinsing to prevent premature wear.
  • Anti-blocking system to prevent fusing between spinner and work bowl.
  • Temperature monitoring with auto-stop to prevent damage.

Tandem Systems
The tandem version includes two processing units but shares one intermediate hopper and separation unit, beneficial for applications with long finishing times and short separation cycles.

Technical Specifications
The document provides detailed specifications for various models (TT 60-A/2C to TT 520-A/2C), including work bowl volume, batch sizes, material, drive mode, power, speed, and screening area. It also includes dimensions for both double and triple batch systems.

CENTRIFUGAL DISK FINISHING SYSTEMS TT…-A/2C TROWAL SURFACE FINISHING Double batch centrifugal disk finishing systems Model range TT…-A/2C TOP PERFORMANCE Compared to vibratory surface finishing equipment, the Trowal Turbotron centrifugal disk finishing systems offer a more than 10 times higher grinding performance. Turbotron machines are mainly used for removal of heavy burs and edge breaking/radiusing of small to midsize mass produced parts. However, their applications also include fine grinding, surface smoothing, polishing and even “high gloss” polishing. THAT’S HOW IT WORKS The centrifugal force of the rotating spinner (60 – 250 RPM) accelerates the media/work piece mass and pushes it up the inner wall of the stationary work bowl. With the diminishing kinetic energy gravity forces the media and parts to slide back onto the rotating spinner where the centrifugal force accelerates them again. THE DOUBLE BATCH PRINCIPLE While the system separates a first batch of finished parts from the media on an external separation unit, a second batch of raw parts is processed in the work bowl. The parallel execution of the finishing and separation function minimizes costly idle equipment times, especially during the separation process. Double batch systems are ideally suited for automated finishing proces
