The JOVYSTAR plus can be operated as a true online system (double conversion) or in standby mode in order to achieve the highest level of efficiency possible. UPS systems out of the JOVYSTAR plus series are equipped with a PFC rectifier using IGTB technology with a very large input voltage range and a power factor cos φ of nearly 1. More over that all systems of this type are equipped with a selfdiagnosis system and feature a very high dynamic during load changes. They also have a low noise level. The rectifier’s harmonic distortion (THDI) is rated at under 4%. This low THDI allows a smaller dimensioning of the emergency power generators than it‘s possible with standard rectifiers using thyristor technology. The battery lifetime can be significantly increased by using this digital rectifier. Active current sharing in parallel operation is a special feature of our JOVYSTAR plus systems. The parallel connection of up to 6 systems to create redundancy (n+1 operation) or to increase output is easily possible. With this innovative technology for digitalization using two 32 bit DSPs, not only the active power, but the reactive power as well, is factored into controlling the load distribution. All system data can be retrieved from a RS 232/USB interface – it can also be optionally transmitted via SNMP adapter, MODBUS adapter, PROFIBUS or other bus system. The battery can be integrated in the UPS encasing for short autonomy times. External design-fitted battery cabinets can be used for longer autonomy times. systems provide optimal energy supply to the connected equipment because a permanent, stable output voltage free from all grid-typical disturbing impulses, voltage peaks and voltage fluctuations is provided. Therefore critical equipment is supplied with secure voltage at all times. The IGBT rectifier integrated in the UPS system permanently feeds the inverter with controlled direct current and charges the battery. The inverter converts the direct current coming from the rectifier or battery into controlled alternating voltage using pulse width modulation. The JOVYSTAR plus inverter is absolutely shortcircuit-proof. All JOVYSTAR plus series UPS systems have an integrated static switch and manual bypass. The manual bypass can be used for the continual supply of the load during maintenance or malfunction of the UPS system.
