www.jovyatlas.de www.jovyatlas.de www.jovyatlas.de Product Range: Resistors Load container CONPower In the field of testing devices for diesel engines and generators the demand for load resistors has increased steadily. By establishing new regulations, inspections and changes in test runs, JOVYATLAS has responsed to the increasingly complex demands in the segment of load resistors and offers with the series CONPower extremely powerful load resistors of up to 5 MW, which are well suited not only for the testing of generators, but also for a controlled battery discharge. The load steps of CONPower can be switched current dependently, so that a gentle and controlled battery discharging is guaranteed. The systems of the CONPower series are built into standardized steel shipping containers, in which both the load unit and the entire switchgear for the control of the load bank are implemented. The use of standard containers offers by the compact design and great stability a good transportation facility with cranes or trucks and an easy accessibility of the fixtures. The ventilation of our container is on the side, so that the containers are stackable and suitable for sea transport. The series CONPower load banks consist of independently constructed load tunnels. Two load tunnels were conbined and arranged one above the other. Several of these combined tunnels were lined up side by side, depending on the desired overall performance. Each load tunnel is equipped with a fan for cooling the resistance elements and with an associated monitoring device and is housed in a separate cabinet. Thereby the load tunnels are thermally decoupled with each other as far as possible. By a special design of the resistor elements and by the forced fan ventilation most of the heat energy is dissipated, only a small part is stored within the resistor elements. By the use of special stainless steels for our resistor elements the load steps have got a very low temperature coefficient. Thereby the selected load remains almost constant even during heating of the resistance material. The stainless steel elements are maintenance free and durable. By their special design the high power levels can be arranged in a very small space. The load container is divided into two sections. In the first part the whole switchboard including backup components, auxiliary contactors and load contactors as well as the terminal board are located. Additionally here the necessary components for controlling and monitoring of the load bank are incorporated. In the second part of the container theload space is located. Here the load banks with the fan assembly and monitoring facilities are located in separate housings. The load tunnels were operated independently.

Within the type series CONPOWER we implement a large number of options: For the PLC we use the SIMATIC from Siemens. The PLC control is optionally avaiilable with a remote control (up to 100 m distance). A factory-provided programming of the controlling according to customer specifications is optional available. Of course, the ConPower load containers could be connected in parallel. A parallel connection allows the realisation of arbitrary levels according to customers needs. If several containers are connected in parallel to increase power, the containers work in the master-slave operation....
