Coating Properties
SUBLIME® is a coating designed to enhance the service life of tools used in toothing applications. It is characterized by a hardness of 3,300 ± 200 HV and a coating thickness ranging from 2.0 to 4.0 ± 1.0 µm. The coating can withstand maximum operating temperatures of up to 1,100 °C (2,012 °F) and has a coefficient of friction against steel between 0.7 and 0.8. The roughness on polished surfaces is 0.07 µm, and the coating is grey in color.

SUBLIME® offers significant advantages, including up to 130% longer service life compared to chemically comparable coatings, as demonstrated in tooth impact tests. It provides considerable red hardness and oxidation resistance, making it suitable for high-temperature applications. The coating delivers excellent results in both dry and wet toothing processes, such as gear hobbing.
