Product catalog summary
Technical Information Overview
This document provides technical specifications for the ISO suspension system used to connect forks to lift-trucks, a globally recognized standard. The ISO standard is divided into five classes, each with two forms ('A' and 'B'), differentiated by the fork drop (clearance from the lower hook to the floor). These specifications are defined in ISO 2328.
ISO Classes and Specifications
  • ISO 1: For lift-truck capacities of 0-999 kg, with load centers of 400+600 mm. Forms 1A and 1B have drops of 76 mm and 114 mm respectively.
  • ISO 2: For capacities of 1,000-2,500 kg, with load centers of 500+600 mm. Forms 2A and 2B have drops of 76 mm and 152 mm respectively.
  • ISO 3: For capacities of 2,501-4,999 kg, with load centers of 500+600 mm. Forms 3A and 3B have drops of 76 mm and 203 mm respectively.
  • ISO 4: For capacities of 5,000-10,000 kg, with a load center of 600 mm. Forms 4A and 4B have drops of 127 mm and 254 mm respectively.
  • ISO 5: Introduced in 2003, for capacities of 8,001-10,999 kg, with a load center of 600 mm. Forms 5A and 5B have drops of 127 mm and 257 mm respectively.
Key Measurements and Tolerances
  • ISO 1 and 2 have a tolerance of +1 mm, while ISO 3, 4, and 5 have a tolerance of +1.5 mm.
  • ISO 5 is less common in Europe, with capacities typically covered by ISO 4.
  • Specific measurements such as 'c1', 'c2', 'h1', 'h2', 'k1', 'k2', 'm1', and 'RH' are detailed for each class, indicating various dimensions and tolerances.
Regional Variations
  • 600 mm load centers are commonly used in the USA, Asia, and Australia.

Connection measures ISO suspension-1

QualityForks made by VETTER Technical information Connection measures ISO suspension Today, the ISO suspension is world-wide the most common way of connecting forks to the lift-truck. According to the rated truck capacity the ISO standard consists of 5 classes, each of them having a form „A“ and „B“ (e.g. class „2A“ or „2B“). The difference in the forms „A“ and „B“ is the fork drop (clearance lower hook to floor). All measures are defined in the international standard ISO 2328. In the table below, the most important measures are listed. Fork carrier Load centre Rated lift-truck capacity kg 0-999 ISO 1 + 2: Tolerance + 1 mm ISO 3,4 + 5: Tolerance + 1.5 mm ISO 5 is introduced in 2003 and therefore still unusual in Europe. The capacity range of 5,000—10,000 kg will still be covered by ISO 4, as it was usual until now. 600 mm is used in the USA 600 mm is used in the USA, Asia, Australia Technical information will not be up-dated automatically!
