CRX Cylinder OverviewThe CRX cylinder series is a rotary actuator that transforms linear piston motion into angular drive using a rack and pinion system. The output torque is determined by the supply pressure. The series offers both male and female pinions and standard rotation angles of 90, 180, and 360 degrees, with custom options available. Bore sizes range from 25 to 100 mm.
Technical Specifications- End caps and body are made of aluminium alloy.
- The shaft is constructed from C45 steel, with an acetalic polymer guide.
- The piston is aluminium with polyurethane seals, a magnet, and a PTFE guide ring.
- The barrel is an anodized profiled aluminium tube.
- Operating temperature ranges from -10°C to +80°C, with a medium temperature range of 0°C to +40°C.
- Lubrication is not required, and the medium used is filtered air.
- Maximum operating pressure is between 1 and 10 bar.
Working Principle
The CRX cylinder's core consists of a toothed pinion on a shaft supported by ball bearings, coupled to a square section rack. A plastic plate guides the rack, and a spring-adjusted system recovers any slack between the rack and pinion, ensuring repeatability of rotation. The piston is made of aluminium with polyurethane seals and a PTFE guide ring. Cylinders without rotation regulation have an error margin of ±1 degree.
Performance and Adjustments- Final angular adjustment ranges from -8° to +5°.
- Theoretical torque force varies with bore size and pressure, with detailed values provided for each bore size from 25 to 100 mm.
Seals Kit
The seals kit for CRX cylinders includes all necessary seals and is identified by the rotary cylinder code, bore size, and '-SG' suffix.
