Flow Software is a print preparation tool designed for the Sapphire family of metal 3D printers. It streamlines the manufacturing process by using a feature-based process library, eliminating the need for developing new part-specific parameter sets. This saves significant development time and reduces the need for specialized technicians.
Flow is co-developed with Sapphire printers, ensuring pre-validated build instructions. It uses Velo3D’s standardized process library to create .veloprint files that ensure consistent geometric accuracy, surface finish, and material properties across all Sapphire printers globally. It supports the entire line of Sapphire printers, facilitating scalable production.
The software features a user-friendly interface that simplifies interaction with part geometry using CAD-derived surface segmentation. It reduces complex selection and filtering processes to a few clicks and allows easy manipulation of part files for support, orientation, layout, and labeling.
Flow supports native CAD models, avoiding the need for conversion to STL mesh formats, thus enhancing process control and consistency. It includes a fully optimized library of feature-based processes for advanced geometries and validated material properties. Intelligent slicing allows immediate printing without specialized technicians.
Flow's Golden Print File ensures scalability and repeatability, allowing identical parts to be manufactured consistently from any Sapphire printer worldwide. The standardized library and automated calibration routines ensure identical dimensions and material properties.
Flow’s Inspector provides detailed insights into the printing process before it starts, offering a powerful tool for reviewing laser sequencing and recipe assignment.
