The Vapormatt Sabre is a versatile system designed for edge preparation, surface conditioning, and cleaning. It is available in configurations for cutting inserts, aerospace components, or a hybrid system. The system supports multiple processes and recipes, allowing precise control and monitoring, and is Vapormatt 4.0 enabled for remote diagnostics.
Designed for R&D facilities and medium to high volume manufacturers, the Sabre system uses servo motors for accurate positioning and includes a rinse stage. It can process up to 4 insert pallets and 12 round shank tools with targeted blast nozzles.
The machine includes wet blasting and rinsing stages, with additional rinse and drying operations required separately. Process times vary based on component size, process type, and abrasive size. Pre-process standards include no chips on cutting edges and specific radii tolerances.
Features include component pallets, round shank tool holders, a blast cabinet with abrasion-resistant lining, and an oscillation system for blast gun height adjustment. It also includes a component processing turntable, abrasive slurry system, multiple Vapormatt blast guns, and an air pressure sensor.
Optional features include operation manual translation, a vertical sliding door, a programmable status beacon, component holding mats, and an automatic abrasive dosing system. Enhancements for the slurry system and chemical dosing are also available.
Additional optional features include filtration and re-circulation systems, elutriation towers, slurry removal systems, exhaust extractors, mist eliminators, wet and dry vacuum cleaners, vertical gun head manipulators, rotary axes for blast guns, and more efficient Mk 9 guns.
Process monitoring features include a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for data logging, a barcode scanner for automatic recipe loading, and a blast air flow monitoring system.
Services required for operation include electrical supply, air supply, water supply, drainage, extraction, foundations, and networking. Specific requirements include operating voltage, air pressure, water pressure, and internet connectivity.
Vapormatt provides dedicated project management from order to installation, including technical acceptance with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Aftermarket support includes spares, servicing, and Vapormatt 4.0 solutions. Training covers operation, maintenance, and recipe fine-tuning.

After the operator places up to 12 round shank tools into individual holders and closes the machine door, a recipe is selected from the HMI unit.
