If necessary, the equipment can be supplied with a report, to certify the calibration. The results can be compared with the “soxlet” hot process method, that required at least 4/6 hours, longer than present method. TESTING METHOD A sample of about 2 g of fiber or yarn must be weighed with an analytical scale, inserted into the vertical tube of the equipment, filled with 10 ml of a specific solvent and applied the pressure kit, 1 Kg weight, on the sample. The solvent, filtering through the material, thanks to an extractive cold process, extracts the contained oil dropping in the aluminium plate, positioned under the tube. The plate is heated at a desired temperature that allows solvent evaporation. The extracted materials, havier than the solvent, stay in the plate. The weight difference of the aluminium plate before and after the test represents the mass of oil extracted from the sample. The oil presence percentage in the sample is obtained comparing the extracted weight with the total sample weight.
