Flow switch

Flow switch

Product catalog summary
General Characteristics
The FCM flow switch is designed for simplicity and safety in detecting flow passage. It features a separation of electrical and mechanical components, with a magnetically actuated reed contact. The switch head can be easily replaced without removing the flow switch from the pipe, requiring no adjustments post-replacement. Key features include no setting requirement, easy switch head replacement, low pressure loss, and compatibility with both vertical and horizontal mounting for liquid and gas applications.

Technical Data
The flow switch is constructed with a brass hexagonal bar body and a ½’’ Gas-male process connection. It uses a PP piston as the sensing element, with an accuracy of ±15% of the setting value. The maximum temperature is 90°C, with a pressure loss of 0.5 bar at maximum flow rate and a maximum flow rate of 25 L/min. The device weighs 170 g and supports both vertical (GV) and horizontal (GO) mounting.

Available Settings
Settings are available for both GV and GO mounting types, with nominal ON and OFF set points ranging from 0.8 to 7.4 l/min.

Electrical Data
The reed contact is normally open under no flow conditions, with a contact rating of 300 V, 70 VA, and 0.5 A. Wiring is facilitated by a 6.3 mm Faston, and an IP65 DIN cover kit is available upon request.

Nomenclature
The nomenclature for ordering includes the type and setting number, nominal set point in l/min, process connections, and mounting type. An optional DIN cover kit is also available.

Mounting and Maintenance
Before installation, ensure the hydraulic circuit is clean. Avoid mounting the flow switch in direct contact with ferrous or magnetic surfaces. Use the metal hexagonal part of the body for pipe connections. Ensure the switch head is securely fastened if replaced.
