A product idea becomes reality The idea Virtual or real? At the beginning there is always the idea. So this doesn’t just remain a vague concept we work with you on required specification. Based on the requirements laid down our designers will produce technical drawings. From these, 3D representations can be developed to give you your first impression of the finished product from any perspective. To get a little closer to reality we will, if required, build a model of the planned product. With this type of prototype it is easy to check whether everything has actually been thought of. Modelling...

Tool making Intermediate stage – Tool making When all queries are finally cleared up, the tool can be made. We have our own tool-making facilities so that we can fall back on our own experts in as many intermediate stages as possible. A little time and patience is needed before the tool is ready – making an injection moulding tool from steel is much more time consuming than working on an aluminium tool when vacuum forming the product holders. But then it is «put on the machine» and the exciting moment of producing the first sample run begins. Perhaps then a couple of small alterations will still...

The production processes Injection moulding The raw material The initial material for the manufacture of plastic containers is the granulate. These are small plastic pellets to which colour is often added. The granulate is stored in large silos. From there it goes through feeder pipes to the moulding machine. The machine An essential component of the machine is a cylinder, inside which moves a «corkscrew thread». In it the granules are transported to a nozzle in front of which the moulding tool is clamped into the machine. On the way in , the small plastic pellets are heated, ground up and mixed,...

Thermoforming The raw material The initial material for the manufacture of component holders is sheets of plastic, which are stacked in a special jig, lifted by suction cups and automatically fed individually to the vacuum-forming machine. The tool is located in a lower section of the machine. The plastic sheet is clamped between the tool and a heating device. The production Heating the sheet makes the material pliable. It is pulled over the tool by generating a vacuum. Finally the finished tray will still have to be sawn, milled or punched to size. The background conditions Vacuum-forming tools...

Products with added value Hot plate welding to create non-standard sizes For small batch sizes, containers are frequently sawn apart, to be then welded together to create a non-standard footprint-size. Individual production For optimum security of a cargo, the interior of a container is provided with glued-on plastic foam or holding straps upon customer request. All this is executed by hand.

Access openings in the sidewalls of plastic containers are frequently milled out by hand. Using pad printing, hot stamping or image sheet stamping, customer logos, a serial number or warnings are applied to the containers, depending on the number of items by hand or fully automated directly at the injection moulding machine. RFID / Barcode For identification of containers and their contents, frequently barcodes or transponders are applied. To automate this process, a robot brings the container into the predetermined position, so that a barcode label or a transponder can be glued on at the respective...

Custom Solutions and Products Customer solutions for special requirements The standard range is very extensive, still sometimes it does not meet the requirement profile. In such a case we will develop a suitable product together with you. This does not principally have to be a completely new container. New customer solutions are often created by altering or making additions to existing solutions.
