Germanium Ingots

Germanium Ingots

Product catalog summary
Specifications
Germanium ingots are available in polycrystalline and monocrystalline forms. Polycrystalline ingots have a resistivity guaranteed to exceed 50 Ω.cm n-type throughout their length, measured at 20 ± 0.5 °C using the 2-point probe method (ASTM F48-93) and thermoelectric probe method (ASTM F42-93-A). Monocrystalline ingots have a net impurity concentration lower than 10 cm-3, calculated from resistivity measurements at 77 K using the Van der Pauw method (ASTM F76-86).

Formats
Polycrystalline ingots have a trapezoidal cross-section with dimensions approximately A ≈ 48 mm, B ≈ 42 mm, H ≈ 39 mm, and an angle of ≈ 5 mm. They weigh about ± 70 grams per linear cm. Monocrystalline ingots have dimensions A ≈ 39.5 mm, B ≈ 34 mm, H ≈ 32.5 mm, and an angle of ≈ 6 mm, weighing 60-70 grams per linear cm. The length of the ingots ranges from 100 mm to 400 mm, or as requested.

Packing
Germanium ingots are heat-sealed between a tough plastic sheet and a firm-supporting base, then packed in cardboard boxes filled with shock-absorbing materials.

Certifications
Umicore Electro-Optic Materials is ISO certified: ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
