Introduction
This document is an operating manual for Uhing Linear Drives, specifically for the series RS, Ki, RGK, and RG. It provides detailed instructions on the specifications, installation, and maintenance of these linear drives.

1. Specifications
Wälzmutter (Series RS): The pitch value and direction are fixed. Changes in stroke speed and direction require adjustments in the shaft's speed and rotation.
Rollringgetriebe (Series Ki, RGK, RG): These drives allow variable pitch values and directions, enabling variable speed reciprocating movements at constant shaft speed and direction.

2. Material Requirements
Uhing Linear Drives require inductively surface-hardened shaft steel, ground and finished. Minimum requirements include a surface hardness of 50 HRC, diameter tolerance of h6, roundness within half the permissible total diameter deviation, and a runout tolerance of ≤ 0.1 mm/m.

3. Installation Instructions
The shaft must be chamfered at the ends. Use a release switch to slide the linear drive onto the shaft. If unavailable, screw the shaft into the drive with axial pressure and correct rotation. Ensure mounting screws do not protrude into the housing to avoid functional disturbances. Secure linear drives against rotation around the shaft.

4. Safety Instructions
Potential pinch points from gear movement and rotating shafts must be secured against contact. Unauthorized adjustments during the warranty period void the warranty.

5. Shaft Rotation Direction
Wälzmuttern: Independent of rotation direction.
Rollringgetriebe: The switching mechanism only functions with the correct shaft rotation direction. Adjustments may be necessary if the direction is incorrect.

6. Adjusting Pitch Value and Direction
Wälzmuttern: Pitch value can be changed by replacing wedge rings. For direction changes, rotate the wedge rings 180°.
Rollringgetriebe: Pitch is adjustable, with various mechanisms depending on the model.

7. Release Switch
Standard on certain models, it disengages the drive from the shaft, allowing free movement. Caution is advised during vertical use to prevent uncontrolled load descent.

8. Slippage
Properly configured drives operate nearly wear-free. If slippage occurs, stop the rotating shaft immediately to prevent damage.

9. Thrust Force
Factory-set for high functional safety and long life. Adjustments should only be made if necessary and with detailed instructions.

10. Maintenance
Use MoS2-free rolling bearing greases for shaft lubrication. Monthly intervals are recommended, with shorter intervals under harsh conditions.

11. Adjusting Rollring Drive Symmetry
If discrepancies in pitch values are observed, adjustments can be made using specific tools and procedures outlined in the manual.
