Cam Clutch BR-HT Series

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The BR-HT Series Cam Clutch by TSUBAKI is engineered for high torque and extended service life, featuring a non-contact design ideal for backstop applications in high-speed overrunning scenarios.
Specifications and Features
This series uses a unique cam design that engages only when necessary, allowing free rotation without mechanical contact, thus significantly increasing service life. It prevents reverse rotation, making it suitable for inclined conveyors and bucket elevators.
Design and Applications
The BR-HT series integrates the cam clutch mechanism within standard bearing races, offering models for various torque and speed requirements, primarily used in backstop applications for high-speed overrunning of the inner race.
Selection and Service Life
Clutch model selection is based on design torque requirements, service factor, and overrunning speed. The service life is determined by the fatigue life of the engaged clutch, with no frictional wear during free-running.
Dimensions and Capacities
Detailed dimensions and capacities for models BR15HT to BR300HT are provided, including bore size, torque capacity, and speed limits, along with recommended cover dimensions and installation tolerances.
Installation and Usage
Correct shaft tolerances and keyway fit are crucial to prevent damage. The clutch should be installed as delivered, with lubrication applied before use. Specific lubricants and installation procedures are recommended.
Specifications and Maintenance
The clutch operates optimally within -5˚C to +40˚C. Special Cam Clutch oil is available for maintenance, with regular lubrication and maintenance essential to prevent damage and ensure performance.
Installation and Dimensions
Installation involves components like the inner race, outer race, cam cage, snap ring, and end plate mounting bolt. Angularity specifications and recommended end plate dimensions are provided.
Keyway Dimensions
Keyway dimensions are specified for various shaft and bore sizes, with notes on using ISO R773 (DIN6885.1) parallel keys, though keyway tolerance does not comply with DIN6885 for BR-HT.
Safety and Compliance
Compliance with ANSI/ASME standards is necessary. Power should be locked out before servicing systems using Cam Clutch products. Regular checks and safety precautions are advised to maintain capacity and prevent injury, with protective gear recommended.
Additional Notes
Specifications may change as part of TSUBAKIMOTO CHAIN CO.'s continuous improvement policy. The catalog includes trademarks of Tsubakimoto Chain Co. and its subsidiaries.

Cam Clutch BR-HT Series-2

BACKSTOP TO PREVENT REVERSE ROTATION BR-HT Cam Clutch is High Torque version of existing BR series. BR-HT is mainly used in backstop application for the inner race high-speed overrunning. Prevention of reverse rotation for inclined conveyor and bucket elevator are typical application examples. BR-HT assures not only the immediate backstop function under the high torque, but also the long service life by the "Lift-Off" design. In addition installation on the high speed shaft with low torque enables selection of more compact models with resulting lower cost. We can offer the most appropriate model...
