Product catalog summary
Application
The RM-O-3-D smoke detector is designed for controlling fire and smoke dampers in ventilation systems. It operates on the principle of power off to close and is suitable for use with electric or electro-pneumatic release mechanisms. It is approved for air velocities between 1 m/s and 20 m/s and is independent of air flow direction.

Technical Data
  • Supply Voltage: 230 V, 50/60 Hz, +10% –15%
  • Power Consumption: 3 VA
  • Protection Class: IP 42
  • Ambient Temperature Range: 0 °C to +60 °C
  • Humidity Range: 0 to 90% relative humidity
  • Contamination Warning Limit: > 70%
  • System Monitoring: > 90% contamination, missing smoke sensor head, or defective data transmission
  • Alarm Relay Contact: 250 V, 2 A, 24 V DC, 100 W
  • EMC: EN 61000-6-1 to EN 61000-6-4
  • Weight: Approx. 0.7 kg

Installation Instructions
The smoke detector should be installed on a vibration-free surface within the duct area to ensure proper operation. A drilling template is provided for accurate installation. Electrical connections must be made for the release mechanism and external functions, and the device must be connected to the mains supply.

Functional Description
The device features a contamination indicator with three ranges: normal (up to 70%), warning (70% to 90%), and alarm (>90%). The alarm situation can only be reset after the smoke sensor is clear of smoke. The system includes LED indicators for system monitoring, alarm conditions, and contamination levels.

Circuit Diagrams
The electrical system must comply with VDE and local regulations. Circuit diagrams are provided for installation with separate power supplies for the release mechanism.

Maintenance
Maintenance must be performed annually by qualified personnel, following DIN 31051 and DIN EN 13306 standards. The smoke sensor should be cleaned if contamination exceeds 70%. Functional checks should be conducted without smoke by pressing the "Reset / Test" button, and with smoke using a test aerosol.

Order Details
The smoke detector uses optical light scatter principles to prevent smoke transfer via ventilation ducts. It is suitable for controlling fire and smoke dampers with general building approval. The device includes integrated signal lamps and a contamination level indicator.
