Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers

Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers

Product catalog summary
Overview: Tranter offers a comprehensive range of Plate Heat Exchangers (PHEs) designed for efficient heat transfer across various applications. These exchangers are modular, allowing for customization and expansion by adding or replacing plates as needed.
Specifications: The heat exchangers support flow ranges from 0 to 4600 m3/h, with a maximum working pressure of 25 bar and a temperature range from -40°C to +180°C. Connection sizes range from DN25 to DN500, available in weld neck, flange, or threaded options.
Product Features:
  • Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers: These exchangers are adaptable to various applications due to their modular design. They can be expanded or modified by changing plates.
  • Ultraflex Plates (GX Series): Designed for unbalanced flows, these plates feature a unique gasket system that prevents fluid leakage and allows for six channel combinations to optimize heat transfer.
  • GCP Series Plates: Ideal for applications requiring low pressure drop, these plates use a parallel flow direction and are available in high- and low-theta versions.
  • GCD Series Plates: Suitable for applications with small temperature differences, featuring a diagonal flow direction.
  • GL Series Plates: Offer a large theta span for precise pressure drop and heat transfer rate adjustments.
  • GFP Wide-gap Plates: Designed to handle waste streams in industries like pulp & paper and ethanol distilling, these plates prevent clogging and downtime.
  • Double-wall Plates (GD Series): Prevent fluid mixing, suitable for industries like pharmaceuticals and food & beverage.
  • GW Series Plates: Semi-welded plates for high-pressure applications, allowing aggressive fluids between plates.
Materials and Gaskets: Standard plate materials include EN 1.4301 (304SS), EN 1.4401 (316SS), and Titanium, with options for Hastelloy C-276 and other alloys. Gasket materials include NBR, EPDM, and Viton, with clip-on options for easy maintenance.
Global Presence: Tranter operates globally with factories in Sweden, USA, India, and China, supported by a network of sales companies, licensees, and agents. They provide local service and applications assistance worldwide.

Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers Tranter provides the world’s largest range of Plate Heat Exchangers (PHEs) for a variety of applications. The PHEs are built on a module-based concept and are designed to provide maximum efficiency in transferring heat from one liquid to another, or from steam to liquid. Frames, plates and connections can be combined to form a number of different exchanger types. By using different types of plates, with different characteristics, the heat exchangers can be adapted to a wide variety of applications. The benefit of the gasketed plate heat exchanger is that it can...

Ultraflex Plates (GX) Especially when flows are unbalanced and the allowable pressure drops are reasonably close, Tranter utilises its GX Series plate designs. Tranter’s corrugated GX plates have a gasket along the periphery. There are also gaskets around two of the four ports, which means that only one of the two fluids has access to the heating surface. The next plate has gaskets around the other two ports. Thus, a channel system is created where two fluids pass through every other channel respectively. Leakage between the two fluids is not possible thanks to double gaskets around the ports....

GC Series Plates GCP Plates Applications where low pressure drop is required or unit sizing is limited by pressure drop (low theta) are a perfect match for the GCP Series plate. Tranter’s GCP Series plates are designed with a conventional herringbone pattern, with the gasket groove in the bottom plane. The plate design uses parallel flow direction, in contrast to the GX Series, which features diagonal flow across the plate. Due to the deeper draw depth and the pattern in the flow distribution area, the GCP Series plates yield a significantly lower pressure drop than the corresponding GX Series...

A Closer Look At Double-Wall and GW Series Plates The possibility of intermixing is virtually eliminated by nesting two plates together and welding the port holes. Double-wall Plates (GD) The double-wall plate heat exchanger is intended for use where the two fluids on each side of the plates should not mix—due to possible contamination or an undesirable reaction. If a leak through one of the plates or around one of the gaskets should occur, the fluid is vented to the outside of the heat exchanger before any intermixing can occur. The leak is immediately evident even before disassembly of the...
