Fine Bubble Diffuser - 1

FINE BUBBLE DIFFUSER DBF The fine bubble diffuser is one of the aeration systems that gives the best results. This is achieved by pushing air through an elastic membrane in which a great number of microcuts have been made. The diffusers are made up of two PVC tubes connected to a “T” joint. An E.P.D.M. membrane around the tubes diffuses the air to be distributed inside it. The microcuts in the membrane work as a valve, letting air pass under pressure and preventing the passage of the water. The result is a fine air bubble that, due to its small size, from 0.5 to 1 mm, rises slowly to the surface. There are two factors that considerably improve the performance: A greater oxygen transfer surface. The bubble is in the water for a longer time. Toro Equipment 2013 FINE BUBBLE DIFFUSER DBF

Minimum: 0 Nm /h (per meter of diffuser) 3 Normal: 7 - 8 Nm /h (per meter of diffuser) 3 Maximum: 10 - 12 Nm /h (per meter of diffuser) Pressure loss: Pressure loss in the diffuser varies according to the work flow. Figure 1 shows the variation curve of the same. In general, when new, the pressure loss is somewhat higher, but it decreases after a few days and stabilizes. Pressure loss depends on the specific air flow. Toro Equipment 2013 FINE BUBBLE DIFFUSER DBF

Oxygen use: Oxygen use according to the air flow and depth of the diffuser is shown in figure 2. The values have been calculated for standard conditions of temperature and altitude, for clean water and in shared installations. However, the real results depend on such factors as: Diffuser distribution The kind of water to be treated… Oxygen use depending on the specific quantity of air passing and the depth of blasting under standard conditions Toro Equipment 2013 FINE BUBBLE DIFFUSER DBF

Diffusers are made of corrosion resistant materials. The membranes are made of E.P.D.M. The carrier tubes, chambers and distribution “T” are made of P.V.C. The clamps are made of stainless steel. Toro Equipment 2013 FINE BUBBLE DIFFUSER DBF

Different installation systems can be used according to the design of the basins to be aerated (circular, rectangular, mixed, Homogenizing, Preaeration, Aeration, Shaking... Before going into service the installation should be tested. This is done by introducing clean water into the aeration floats up to a level of 5 cm. above the diffusers and switching In general, secondary distribution collection tanks are used leading from the main collection tank. Cut-off valves are usually installed in them that allow the closing off and/or control of the aeration in the modules where it is...

APPLICATIONS In tubular membrane diffusers (unlike the ceramic ones) THERE IS NO DANGER OFOBSTRUCTION, not even in the presence of large quantities of grease. It can therefore be used in all kinds of aeration basins in aerobic treatment plants. In addition, the presence of solids in suspension and the intermittent use of the aeration system cause no problems. The diffusers can eliminate biological films or solids simply with overexpansion. Treatment of activated sludge, especially in waste with a high grease content (dairy industry, canning industry...). Total oxidation. Sludge...
