Dust Generator SAG 410

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Solid Aerosol Generator (SAG) 410 series is designed for generating solid aerosols used in various applications such as aerosol science, industrial processes, and quality assurance. The system disperses dry dust and powders through a two-step process involving continuous material supply and aerosol dispersal.
Specifications: The SAG 410 series includes models with varying capacities and capabilities. The maximum particle size is 100 µm, with an operation time without refilling ranging from 0.8 to 44 hours. The device requires a compressed air supply of up to 6 bar and operates on a power supply of 100-260 V AC. The dimensions are 320 x 400 x 320 mm, and it weighs approximately 12 kg. The system is QMS certified to DIN EN ISO 9001.
Key Features: The SAG 410 series offers constant and reproducible powder supply using a toothed belt system. The particle concentration can be adjusted by changing the feed belt speed. The system is capable of handling poor-flow powders like titanium dioxide and soot, using a dosing ring for reliable feed rates and dispersing cohesive materials.
Applications: The SAG 410 is suitable for filter testing, basic aerosol research, combustion process optimization, flow visualization, and analysis of mixing and coating processes. It supports a wide dosing range, making it versatile for various industrial applications.
Advantages: The system provides constant dosing of test dusts, continuous dosing with high accuracy, and reliable generation of dust aerosols from poor-flow powders. Interchangeable dispersing units allow coverage of several dosing ranges from mg/h to kg/h, and the device is easy to control and operate.
Optional Accessories: The SAG 410 can be equipped with optional accessories such as dispersing units for online measurement and remote control capabilities.
Performance Data: The document includes performance graphs showing mass flow rate versus feeding belt speed and dosing ring speed for different powders, indicating the system's adaptability to various materials and conditions.

Dust Generator SAG 410-1

Solid Aerosol Generator SAG 410 Flow visualisation Poor-flow test dusts and smallest feed rates A new generation of dust disperser has been developed for substances, which are difficult to handle because of their poor-flow properties, such as titanium dioxide, aluminium oxide and soot. The innovative principle consists of loading the dust on a dosing ring from which it is drawn off by the dispersing nozzle. This enables reliable feed rates and dispersing of cohesive materials as well as delivery of very small quantities of powder at low dosing rates. Optimization of combustion processes Solid aerosols are used in a variety of applications, aerosol and powder science, industrial processes and quality assurance tasks. The technique for the dispersion of dry dust and powders comprises two steps, the continuous supply of material to the disperser and the dispersal of the material as an aerosol. A proven method for metering powder to the disperser is to use a moving toothed belt. The well defined spaces between the teeth ensure a constant and reproducible supply of powder, even at low feed rates. The particle concentration of the output aerosol can easily be adjusted over a wide range by changing the speed of the feed belt. The powder is removed from the belt by an ejector nozzle with ceramic outlet tube. A specially designed scraper ensures even filling of the belt spaces and minimises the influence of the powder level in the reservoir on aerosol mass flow. Basic aerosol research Series SAG 410: Solid Aerosol Generator SAG 410 (standard version) Filter testing: dust loading and fractional efficiency testing with one instrument (wide dosing range) Analysis of mixing and coating processes (e.g. in engineering ceramics) Main Advantages • Constant dosing of various sorts of test dusts Continuous dosing with high accuracy and over long operational periods nearly independent of the powder level in the reservoir Dispersion at small scale dosing rates Reliable generation of dust aerosols from poorflow powders (test dusts) Interchangeable dispersing units allow a single instrument to cover several dosing ranges (from mg/h to kg/h) Easy device control and operation Series SAG 410: Solid Aerosol Generator SAG 410/U for small scale dosing rates
