Product catalog summary
Stepper Product Features
The stepper products are equipped with features such as self-test for automatic motor parameter measurement, anti-resonance for improved speed and torque, command signal smoothing to minimize system resonances, and torque ripple smoothing to reduce low-speed torque ripple. These motors can achieve speeds up to 3,000 RPM with high resolution and holding torque up to 1845 oz-in. The multi-axis HUB with I/O supports networked stepper products for multi-axis motion applications and can be programmed for standalone operations using SiNet Hub Programmer™ software.
DS & SI Drive Features
The DS [STAC6-S] and Si [STAC6-Si] drives feature self-test, anti-resonance, command signal smoothing, torque ripple smoothing, and microstep emulation. They provide current output from 0.5 to 6.0 A, require 90-135 VAC input, and include setup and configuration software. Control options include pulse and direction, analog command signal, and host command via RS232/485.
Technical Specifications
The power amplifier specifications include a MOSFET, dual H-Bridge, 4 Quadrant amplifier type, with current control at 20 Khz. The controller specifications offer non-volatile storage, step and direction inputs, a speed range suitable for speeds up to 133 rps, and resolution selectable from 200 to 51200 steps/rev. The system includes anti-resonance, torque smoothing, auto setup, self-test, and encoder options.
Software
The Si Programmer™ software allows for configuration and programming of the Si [STAC6-Si], controlling motor current, step resolution, and writing complex motion control programs. The CONFIGURATOR™ software simplifies setup and configuration of the DS [STAC6-S] & Si [STAC6-Si].
Motor Dimensions
Specifications and torque curves are provided for 23-frame and 34-frame step motors, detailing holding torque, rated current, resistance, inductance, and rotor inertia. Dimensions for each motor model are specified.
HUB Multi-Axis Motion
The HUB [SiNet Hub444] allows up to 4 stepper drives to be controlled in host mode from a single PC or PLC, or run in standalone mode. It features RS232 communication, programmable inputs and outputs, and DIN rail mounting. The HUB is powered by the drive connected to port #1, eliminating the need for a separate power supply.
Operator Interface MMI
The MMI offers flush or surface mounting, a four-line by 20-character LCD display, and RS232 communication to Si controllers. It allows for entering distances, speeds, and repeat counts into Si programming.
Application Examples
Examples include pick and place, inspection, painting/stenciling, gating, parts transfer, positioning stops/guides, position tables, indexing, and workpiece placement.

Stepper Products DS & SI ADVANCED FEATURES nnn MicroStep Emulation With Microstep Emulation, systems that have a need to use low step resolutions can still provide smooth motion. The drive takes the step count and creates microsteps which are fed to the motor. As an example, this could be used on a retrofit system where the controller resolution is fixed at a low value and cannot easily be changed. Synthesized Microsteps nnn Command Signal Smoothing Dynamic smoothing can soften the effect of immediate changes in velocity and direction, making the motion of the motor less jerky. An added advanage...
