For ail Thin Section and Torque Tube bearings, the size code is based on 1/16" incr颩ments for both bore and OD. Example: 1724 - this bearing has a bore of 17/16" and an OD of 24/16" ( 1.0625 x 1.5000 ) 3. Type:...

DESIGN CONFIGURATIONS Conrad Assembly MPB Thin section and Torque Tube Conrad Bearings are available in sizes up to 6.0" OD. The bail grooves are honed for prcision, low torque, and quiet opration. The deep groove construction allows for handling of radial, thrust and combination loads. While offered primarily with 440C stainless steel rings and balls and with a one-piece fully machined snap-in phenolic cage, other material and separator options are available for sp驩cifie application requirements. Some of the more common design variations are discussed below. See pages 10 and 11 for...

DESIGN CONFIGURATIONS Angular Contact MPB Thin Section and Torque Tube Angular Contact Bearings have been developed to offer a maximum bail complment with a one pice pr騩cision machined retainer and are available in sizes up to 6.0" OD. The bail grooves are honed for prcision, low torque, and quiet opration. The large bail compl驩ment, combined with a relatively high contact angle, maximizes axial stiffness. Rings and balls are normally 440C stainless steel, but other material options are available for spcifie applications. Some of the more common design variations are discussed below....

DESIGN CONFIGURATIONS FracturedRace MPB Fractured Race Bearings have outer races that are radially fractured in one location. This permits the race to be opened for comͭplte flexibility in the choice of bail complment and separator in a deep groove radial bearing. High strength, stainless steel holding bands are then pressed on the ground shoulders to retain tight abut-ment and perfect alignment of the fractured surface during handling and normal op詩ration. Fractured race bearings are available in both full bail complment and retainer configurations. Some of the more common design...

DESIGN CONFIGURATIONS SpcialDesigns Intgral Bearing Assemblies HOW CAN MPB HELP YOU SOLVE YOUR BEARING PROBLEM? 驕 Let MPB look at the proposed design in the early stages so that the bearing can be sized properly and the most economical bearing assembiy used.  Where possible, use standard catalog bearings when performance and cost objectives can be met with a minimum amount of compromise in overall requirements. Օ Be alert to the possibilits of making substantial savings and improvements in performance through the use of spcial bear驭ings where unusual features can be incorporated by...

ENGINEERING DATA Materials Material slection is a critical considration in the design of a bail bearing. Very often the interaction of the balls, races, retainer and lubricant with each other and the environment is the limiting factor in the overall performance of the bearing. MPB's exten-sive exp驩rience in the development and manufacture of bail bearings and bearing assemblies is a valuable resource for proper material slection. Every component and raw material purchased by MPB is con-trolled by a material spcification, generally exceeding industry, govemment and customer sp驩cifications....
