Relay

Product catalog summary
Description: The Model 553 Re-Acceleration Relay is designed to replace a voltage sensing relay and two time delay relays. It initiates an adjustable on-delay when voltage is applied and the start switch is closed. If voltage drops below 90 volts, contacts open and a true-off delay begins. Contacts re-close if voltage exceeds 102 volts before the delay ends. Otherwise, they remain open until the start switch is closed again.
Specifications: The relay operates at a nominal voltage of 120VAC, 60 Hz, with a dropout trip point at 90VAC and a pickup trip point at 102VAC. The on-delay is adjustable from 1 to 120 seconds, and the true-off delay from 1 to 10 seconds. It consumes 5 watts and offers transient protection of 2500 VRMS for 10 milliseconds. The relay has a contact rating of 10A at 120VAC and a mechanical life expectancy of 10 million operations.
Installation: The relay requires an 8-pin socket for mounting and should be installed in a suitable enclosure. Adjust the on-delay to stagger restarts in multiple unit systems and the true-off delay to the maximum allowable power-off time for system restart.
Safety and Warranty: The device should be installed and serviced by qualified personnel due to potentially hazardous voltages. It is covered by a 5-year unconditional warranty from Time Mark Corporation.
