The EcoFlow® Mechanical Seal Support Systems are designed to enhance the efficiency and lifespan of mechanical seals by maintaining optimal seal water temperature. This system is self-operating and does not require an external power source, significantly reducing water consumption and operational costs.

Operation
The EcoFlow® system continuously monitors seal water temperature. If the temperature exceeds the factory set-point, the valve opens to discharge hot water and replace it with cooler water, maintaining optimal conditions.
Application
Installed on the seal water outlet of a mechanical seal, the EcoFlow® valve ensures a constant seal water outlet temperature, enhancing seal life and reducing water usage.
Specifications
- Available in various full open temperatures ranging from 40°F to 210°F.
- Closing temperature is typically 10°F below the opening temperature.
- Maximum operating pressure is 400 PSIG (27.6 BAR) and maximum temperature is 250°F (121°C).
Parts & Materials
- Valve body, thermal actuator, locknut, retainer, operating spring, ram-type plug, and seat housing are made from 300 Series Stainless Steel.
- Sealing O-ring and seat seal are made from Buna-N.
Dimensions & Capacities
- Available sizes: 1/4” and 3/8” NPT.
- Weight ranges from 0.7 lbs (0.3 kg) to 1.3 lbs (0.6 kg) depending on the model.

This increases seal life by ensuring an optimum seal environment while drastically reducing water consumption and significantly increasing cost savings. OPERATION The EcoFlow® contains a highly reliable, repeatable thermal actuator which continuously senses the seal water temperature. If the seal water should exceed the specified factory set-point it will modulate open discharging the hot water, displacing it with cool water. This cooler water will cause the EcoFlow® to modulate closed. This cycle will continue to occur as long as excessive heat is being transferred to the seal water causing the water temperature to exceed its factory set-point. Mechanical Seal
