TEXIL®

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Texil® range of silica fiber textiles is made from ecological HT fibers with a high SiO2 content (>94%). These products are highly resistant to heat (up to 1100°C) and possess excellent thermal insulation properties due to their fibrous structure and low density. They do not produce a-cristobalite at 1000°C for 24 hours, are made of non-breathable fibers (9 microns), and are non-irritating. Texil® products are asbestos and ceramic-free, making them suitable substitutes for ceramic textiles in industrial applications.
Applications: Texil® products are used in the ironworking industry, industrial kilns, electrical furnaces, boilers, stoves, chimneys, gaskets, seals, and various high-temperature applications.
Product Types: The range includes packings, sleeves, tapes, ladder tapes, and cloths.
Characteristics: Texil® products are white, with a fiber diameter of approximately 9 µm and a volume density of 50 kg/m³. They have a melting point of 1550°C, less than 10% weight loss at 1000°C for 2 hours, and a linear shrinkage of 6% under the same conditions. They exhibit excellent resistance to high temperatures and thermal shock, low density and conductivity, are fireproof, have good chemical resistance, and excellent flexibility.
Chemical Composition: The chemical analysis shows 94.5% silica (SiO2), 4.5% aluminum oxide (Al2O3), 0.5% sodium oxide (Na2O), and 0.5% other components.
Standard Sizes: Various standard sizes are available for different product types, including diameters and weights for rolls and tapes.
Specific Products:
  • Texil® Sleeves: Made from Texil® yarn, these sleeves are excellent insulators, non-irritating, and resist continuous heat of 1000°C. They are suitable for thermal insulation of tubes, hoses, and electric cables.
  • Texil® Round Packings: These packings offer excellent flexibility and mechanical resistance, are non-irritating, and resist continuous heat of 1000°C. They are recommended for sealing joints in boilers, industrial furnaces, and chimneys.
  • Texil® Tapes: Made from Texil® yarn, these tapes are excellent insulators, non-irritating, and resist continuous heat of 1000°C. They are suitable for heat protection, cable covering, and insulation of tubes and exhaust pipes.
  • Texil® Self-Adhesive Tapes: These tapes have an adhesive backing for easy positioning and are used in furnaces, boilers, and pipe coating.
  • Texil® Ladder Tapes: These tapes facilitate the insertion of clamping screws and are used in baking ovens and general metalwork.
  • Texil® Textape: Produced with Tricotex knitting, these tapes are soft and flexible, suitable for application on metal surfaces, and resist temperatures up to 1100°C.
  • Texil® Cloths: These cloths are excellent insulators, non-irritating, and resist continuous heat of 1000°C, recommended for replacing ceramic fabrics.
