Dynamic Modulus Tester

Dynamic Modulus Tester

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Dynamic Modulus Tester (models LH-551 and LH-552) is a comprehensive system designed to measure sonic velocity through various materials. This measurement helps determine physical properties such as modulus of elasticity, material anisotropy, and molecular orientation.
Applications: The tester is suitable for materials like carbon, glass, polyester, nylon, tapes, monofilament, and nonwovens.
Advantages:
  • Compact, table-top design for quick and accurate measurements.
  • Useful for production control and research and development.
  • Non-destructive testing capability.
  • Versatile testing for both yarns and material strips with interchangeable mounts.
Features:
  • Digital display for transit time measurement.
  • User-friendly software for automatic sonic velocity calculation.
  • Optional Fiber Scanner for yarns and Planar Mount for sheet materials.
Operation: The system uses transducers to measure sonic pulse velocity in materials, with software calculating the sonic velocity to assess material structure.
Other Uses: The tester is also applicable for evaluating experimental materials, quality control, and aiding in product development.
Ordering Information:
  • LH-551: Fiber Scanner Option for yarns.
  • LH-552: Planar Mount Option for films and tapes.
Instrument Size: Dimensions are 91 cm x 48 cm x 48 cm, weighing 17 kg.
Sonic Velocity Measurements: Example velocities include 3.63 km/sec for nylon cord, 7.59 km/sec for UHMPE, and 7.23 km/sec for para-aramid.

Dynamic Modulus Tester-1

Dynamic Modulus Tester LH-551, LH-552 The Dynamic Modulus Tester is a complete system that measures Sonic Velocity through materials. Physical properties derived from sonic velocity include modulus of elasticity, material anisotropy, molecular orientation in fibers and films as well as orientation of fibers in a web. APPLICATIONS Yarns such as Carbon, Glass, Polyester, Nylon, Tapes, Monofilament, or strips of most materials including Nonwovens ADVANTAGES • Small, table-top instrument for very quick and accurate measurement of sonic velocity through materials such as yarns, fibrous webs, films, tapes, paper and others • Excellent tool for Production Control and R&D • Non-destructive testing for most materials • Same machine can be used to test both yarns and material strips by changing the sample mount FEATURES • Digital display of the transit time through material • User friendly software program that calculates the sonic velocity automatically • Fiber Scanner option for yarn and Planar Mount option for sheet material testing OPERATION The Dynamic Modulus Tester is a complete system that measures the velocity of the sonic pulses in materials such as yarns, films, tapes, non-wovens, and papers. The test materials is contacted by two transducers. The DMT software calculates the sonic velocity, which is used to measure the physical and chemical structure of materials. OTHER USES • Evaluation of experimental materials • Production quality control • Research, Assist in product development
