Hydra II - Mercury Analysers

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides a detailed description of the Hydra series mercury analyzers by Teledyne Leeman Labs, focusing on their capabilities in atomic absorption and fluorescence detection for mercury analysis in various sample types.
Hydra IIAA Atomic Absorption Detection: This system is designed for liquid samples and offers fully automated analysis with high sampler capacity and large reservoirs for quality controls. It features automatic over-range protection to prevent contamination from high mercury concentrations.
Hydra IIAF Atomic Fluorescence Detection: This system provides sub ng/L detection limits without pre-concentration, offering short analysis cycles and low gas consumption. It is suitable for liquid samples requiring high sensitivity.
Hydra IIAF Gold with Pre-concentration: This variant enhances sensitivity through gold amalgamation, allowing for ultra-trace detection levels. It includes a pre-screen option to minimize contamination and a modular detector option for CVAAS methods.
Hydra IIC for Solid and Semi-Solid Samples: The Hydra IIC allows direct analysis of solid and semi-solid samples without digestion, using thermal decomposition and gold amalgamation. It provides results in about 5 minutes and eliminates the need for hazardous waste disposal.
Innovative Design and Safety Features: The Hydra series features an integrated modular design for easy reconfiguration, built-in over-range protection, and a novel gas/liquid separator to handle difficult sample matrices. The systems are designed for ease of maintenance and operation.
Software and Quality Control: The software offers automated control, preventive maintenance notifications, and intelligent quality control features. It supports 'on-the-fly' sample programming and matrix-independent calibration.
Applications and Standards: The analyzers are applicable to a wide range of sample types, including beverages, blood, coal, effluent, and more. They comply with various regulatory and standard methods, such as EPA and EN standards.
Support and Services: Teledyne Leeman Labs provides comprehensive after-sales support, including telephone support, remote diagnostics, onsite services, and training. They also offer consumables, calibration standards, and reagents.

ffycfra // Sample Digestion Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption (CVAA) The Hydra IIaa The Hydra llM employs the most widely used mercury atulysis technique: sample digestion followed by cold vapor atomk absorption (CVAA). Thrs technique's popularity is in its ability to deliver both sensitivity and selecbvrty needed to meet or exceed the reqiirements of many US and EiFopean standard melhods. Wrth its ppt dtection capabilrty, exceptional stability and powerful over-range protection system. the most stringent QCs can be satisfied while rfs high capadty autosampler assures a long period of unattended opration....

Hydra // Sample Digestion Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence The Hydra IIaf and af Gold With the drive to routinely adiieve sub ppt dtection of mercury, anafysts are increasingly tuming to cold v^por atomic fluorescence (CVAF) vrfikh is inherentty a more sensrtive technique than CVAA. To meet that challenge, Teledyne Leeman Labs developed the Hydra llF and Hydra Uafc*m Systems. The Hydra II& uses cold vapor atomk fluorescence d邩tection for the measurement of mercury to 0.1 ppt or lower. The Hydra IIafc*m adds a pre-concentration stage using gold amalgamation prior to dtection yielding dtection levels...

Exceptional Linearity An attractive characteristic of atomic fluorescence is its linear range. The chart to the right shows a linear response for the Hydra IIAF that extends to 5 orders of magnitude. The benefit to the analyst is that samples with higher concentrations can be measured without additional dilution. Sensitivity for the Most Demanding Methods This chart shows signal enhancement using the Hydra IIAF Gold to pre-concentrate 12mL of sample prior to analysis. If more sample is pre-concentrated the enhancement increases. EPA Method 1631 employs pre-concentration while EPA Method 245.7...

Direct Analysis of Solids and Semi Solids The HydrallC The Hydra llC is a fully automated analyzer that measures mercury in solid and semi-solid sample matrices directly without any acid digestion (sample preparation). It employs the technique of sample combustion (thermal decomposition), mercury concentration via gold amalgamation and detection by cold vapor atomic absorption. The biggest advantage of the Hydra llC is that no sample preparation is required. And, because no sample prep is required, no hazardous waste is generated that would have to be disposed of safely and with high cost. Principle...
