The p urchaser of this p roduct has b een instructed how to handle the system safely. The following information is intended for use as a comp lement to ap p licab le local regulations and standards. IMPORTA NT! Tele Radio A B remote controls are often built into wider applications . Thes e s ys tems s hould be equipped with: • a wired emergency s top where neces s ary • a brake • an audible or vis ual warning s ignal A bo u t L y n x sy stems Lynx systems are comp osed of a stationary unit (receiver), a hand unit (transmitter) and a master unit (PC). INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING IMPORTA NT! Only licens ed or qualified pers onnel s hould be permitted to ins tall the product. This radio s ys tem mus t not be us ed in areas where there is a ris k of explos ion. A lways s witch off all electrical power from the equipment before ins tallation procedure. When the equipment controlled by the receiver's s tandard relays is connected via the s top relays , make s ure that the maximum current through the s top relays is s till within the s pecifications . The communication b etween the master device and the Lynx system requires to write a software ap p lication. Configuration is done via Modb us p rotocol (see Installation instructions for more details). THE HAND UNIT The transmitter uses dup lex communication and works in continuous mode. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK The receiver mus t only be opened by qualified ins tallers or authorized pers onnel. Make s ure the power s upply is s witched off before opening the receiver. F ailure to follow thes e ins tructions could res ult in death, s erious injury, or equipment damage. There are three models availab le: with 3, 6 or 8 b uttons. THE STATIONARY UNIT The receiver uses dup lex communication and works in continuous mode. It can use RS232 and RS485 for communication with the master unit and has two op en collector outp uts and two digital inp uts. MASTER UNIT Can b e e.g. a PC or a PLC. The master unit must b e connected to the receiver with a serial cab le (cross over/null modem RS232 cab le). The system is b ased on Modb us, a widely used, op en serial communication p rotocol. Transmission sp eed is ap p rox . 19 200 b its p er second. It is p ossib le to choose b etween RS232 or RS485 for communication with the receiver. Ens ure cables and connectors do not hang loos e. The receiver is designed to withstand normal weather conditions b ut should b e p rotected from ex treme conditions. Install the receiver in a location where the LEDs are easily visib le. Make sure to install availab le accessories inside or on the receiver b efore p ermanently installing the receiver.
