Twaron T765: the new spall-liner solution Cost-effective protection As defense budgets are getting smaller, the industry is understandably looking for ways to obtain the same high ballistic protection at lower cost. This also applies to protective spall liners. These pressed laminates are used behind steel or ceramic armoring in ground vehicles. They help to prevent injury to occupants following an external explosion or a ballistic hit by preventing small fragments or projectiles from flying around. Manufacturing spall liners is a complex and therefore costly business. This is where Teijin Aramid’s new Twaron T765 fabric comes in.
