Key benefits when using Twaron • High ballistic protection • Weight savings of 60 to 70% • Enhanced speed and allowance for heavier payloads • Easy to install – even after vehicle construction • Good price/performance ratio 38-04-10/2009 Professional support Our experts have extensive knowledge of a wide range of armoring solutions. We have longstanding experience of developing solutions that combine different materials such as ceramics, steel and aramid. We also carry out ballistic tests in our own laboratory facilities, where we design prototypes together with vehicle manufacturers and armorers. And we successfully contribute to the developments of our partners in further enhancing the protection of those whose profession puts them in the line of fire. A growing need for protection We live in a world in which there are growing threats to drivers and passengers in military and police vehicles, cash transporters, and private cars. To counter this escalating violence, better protection is needed to reduce the number of injuries and save lives. At the same time there is a need to minimize the weight of the protective materials employed. High-performance Twaron yarn is used to make laminates that provide effective protection against a wide variety of bullets, grenades and even some specific mines. We have over two decades’ experience of engineering and testing advanced protective materials together with vehicle armorers – all designed to provide optimal protection, today and tomorrow. Protecting vehicles and their passengers Independent endorsement Comprehensive fire tests have shown that the protection provided by Twaron-based laminates fully achieves the required ballistic specifications. In combination with other materials, Twaron protects against bullets, fragments and projectiles according to STANAG 6-90, levels 1-4.

Twaron ‘bodyguard’, a low weight, relatively thin layer (depending on the threat level) will effectively stop penetration of bullets and fragments into the interior of the plane. Protecting patrol boats Navies, police and customs officials around the world need fast, lightweight vessels that are protected against bullets. Twaron-based ballistic solutions increasingly play a key role in providing this kind of protection. Protecting helicopters and planes In today’s battlefield conditions,...
