TECNOPENTA MEASURING GEOTECNICA CEOLOGIA IDROGEOLOGIA METEOROLOGIA Cl- Est S Surface strain gauge Among the various types of sensors used for landslide or structural monitoring, wire extensometers can be considered a valid solution for a wide range of applications. Thanks to the many possible design configurations, these instruments can be adapted to various morphological, lithological, or structural conditions, combining generally low cost with good reliability. Wire extensometers essentially consist of a tensioned cable stretched between two points whose relative displacement is to be measured. Typically, one point is located in a stable area, while the other lies within the moving or unstable zone. The cable is connected to a displacement transducer, appropriately calibrated, which records the evolution of the phenomenon over time. TECNOPENTA S.r.l. Via G. Galilei, 7A/2 35037 TEOLO (PD) Surface displacement measurements between points located at distances ranging from 5 to 50 meters can be performed using a specially designed and dimensioned wire extensometer. The specific solution and configuration must be tailored to the conditions of the installation site. While the basic working principle remains similar, dimensions, sensor types, and anchoring systems may vary depending on the application. These instruments can also be integrated with alarm systems, capable of activating warning lights or traffic signals.

The instrument has a measurement range of 50 cm; once this limit is reached, the device must be removed to prevent damage. Gl-Est S light is highly compact and easy to install. Gl-Est S is the most widely used version of this instrument, as it can measure the relative displacement between two points up to 50 meters apart. It is particularly...
