G1-EST Alla rime Strain gauge for alarm The proposed sensor falls into the category of breakaway sensors and is used in the monitoring of moving masses, such as landslides or debris flows. The sensor operates by detecting the tension generated on a steel cable that connects the moving mass to an on/off contact. In the case of a landslide, for example, one end of the cable is attached to the moving mass, while the other end is fixed in place. The movement of the landslide increases the tension in the cable and compresses the spring, triggering the switch. In detail, the system is composed of: TECNOPENTA S.r.l. Via G. Galilei, 7A/2 35037 TEOLO (PD) - A spring guided by a pin connected to the cable, designed to ensure that compression occurs along a direction parallel to the spring’s axis.

The switch activation system consists of a threaded rod with an adjustable-position steel expansion block. - Steel strand (wire rope) of 3 or 4 mm diameter. All components are housed in a painted aluminum enclosure with IP67 protection rating. The switches are mounted to trigger a signal both in the event of spring compression—caused by the movement of the monitored mass—and in the event of cable breakage, when the spring extends to its limit, for example due to an accidental event. The default sensitivity range is set to 15 mm, but it...
