EtherCAT Starter Kit for iPOS360x Intelligent Servo Drives The new iPOS family of Technosoft intelligent drives offers a very compact and cost-effective solution for motor control. Using a modular concept, the iPOS drives accept interface extension plug-ins for EtherCAT or absolute position sensors. Based on the Technosoft Motion Chip™ technology the new iPOS family of drives embeds motion controller, drive and PLC functionalities into a single unit. The iPOS drives can operate as an EtherCAT slave with CoE protocol, or as a CiA402 CANopen drive without the EtherCAT interface extension, or can be programmed to execute complex motion programs directly at drive level, using its built-in motion controller and the high level Technosoft motion language (TML). Using TML you can substantially reduce a master task as this can simply call complex motion functions, pre-stored in the drive memory. The EtherCAT Starter Kit is a ready-to-run solution for testing an iPOS3604 VX or iPOS3602 VX drive via EtherCAT. It includes an I/O board to plug-in the drive and the EtherCAT interface plus optionally, a brushless or step motor. The Starter Kit gets you fast to the point where the real motion begins: • You can immediately start evaluating the solution of your motion problem by selecting the appropriate application note and by using the I/O board to simulate the drive environment • You will use the I/O board buttons, pots and LEDs to emulate your PLC or host commands and see the Technosoft drive response • The included motor shows you how your actual motor will behave on the application when properly tuned • The EasyMotion Studio graphical interfaces (watch, trace and control panel windows) will give you the certitude that your motion solution with the Technosoft intelligent drives was found EtherCAT Interface iPOS3604 VX and iPOS3602 VX Features • Suitable for: rotary or linear brushless, DC brushed and 2/3 phase step motors (up to 256 psteps) • Very compact design with standard PCIe mating connectors • Logic supply: 7-36 V, motor / power supply 9-36 V •4 A continuous,10 A peak (3604); 2 A continuous, 3.2 A peak (3602) • Position feedback: - Incremental encoder: single-ended, differential RS422 or sine/cosine 1Vpp - Hall sensors: digital or linear - SSI, BiSS, EnDAT encoders and resolver1 • 5 inputs 5-36 V, NPN; 4 outputs 5-36 V, 0.5 A, NPN, open-collector • 2 analog inputs 12 bit, 0-5 V • RS-232 and CANbus (CANopen or TMLCAN) or EtherCAT2 with CoE • Modes of operation: - Position or speed profiles (trapezoidal, S-curve) - 3rd order PVT and 1st order PT interpolation - Electronic gearing and camming - External reference: analog or digital • Stand-alone operation with TML motion program stored in E2ROM • Powerful TML instruction set including: - Motion commands, program flow control, I/O handling - Arithmetic and logic operations, axis synchronization • Protection for over current, short circuit, earth fault, over temperature, over- and under-voltage, I2t, control error Starter Kit Features • Plug-and-play complete H/W and S/W package including an iPOS360x drive, an EtherCAT interface extension, an I/O board, a motor (optionally) and EasyMotion Studio software • Emulation of input commands from a PLC/host via push-buttons and potentiometers • Visual control of drive’s output lines via LEDs • Operation either with EtherCAT or with feedback interface extension • Graphical programming, motion evaluation with EasyMotion Studio • Brushless / step motor pre-tuned in the drive, for immediate motion evaluation additional feedback interface extension / 2via additional EtherCAT interface extension This information is subject to c
