www.techconsystems.com Version 1.00 Techcon Systems - Cartridge Plunger Comparison Cartridge plungers ensure that the pressure is evenly spread across the fluid surface to provide consistent dispensing. Wiping edges prevent dripping and eliminate material waste by wiping the cartridge walls clean, as fluid is dispensed. Dispensing without a plunger inserted can result in unreliable dispensing deposits, as the supplied air pressure can become trapped inside the fluid, resulting in void pockets. In addition, moisture found in the air, can affect the properties of the fluid. Techcon Systems is pleased to demonstrate the advantages of each plunger type. TS1P MEDIUM INTERFERENCE 2.5oz – 12oz 74ml – 355ml For medium to thick materials A general purpose plunger that is easy to install and provides a double wiping edge. High visibility when inside cartridge. Available in black to support UV materials and both versions are made of low density polyethylene (LDPE). TS1WP HIGH INTERFERENCE - For thin materials 2.5oz – 12oz 74ml – 355ml A tighter fitting plunger that prevents even the thinnest materials from leaking out of the cartridge. Also suited for thick materials when a complete air tight seal is required. Natural in color and made of low density polyethylene (LDPE). TS1WP-RIB LOW INTERFERENCE - For very thick materials 2.5oz – 12oz 74ml – 355ml Incorporating specially designed RIB’s, that are equally spaced, ensures a shallow area remains present around the piston outer walls – directing unwanted air out of the fluid during cartridge filling and dispensing. A single wiping edge can allow some material residue to remain on cartridge walls. Very easy to install, natural in color and made of low density polyethylene (LDPE). TS3WP-MD MEDIUM INTERFERENCE - For medium to thick materials 2.5oz – 12oz 74ml – 355ml Similar in application uses as the TS1P model, this medium density plunger prevents "flipping" during insertion into empty cartridges, due to its equally sized front and rear wiping edges. Natural in color and made of medium density polyethylene (MDPE). TS2P HIGH INTERFERENCE - For all types of materials 1/10 Gallon 325ml A general purpose plunger that accommodates typical materials supplied in 1/10 gallon or “Euro” style cartridges. Recommended for use with devices, such as air powered or manual caulking guns, to prevent leakage past the double wiping edges. Available in black to support UV materials TS20P HIGH INTERFERENCE - For all types of materials 20oz 591ml This standard 20oz (591ml) wiper plunger is recommended for use with air powered devices, such as a cartridge gun, to prevent leakage past the double wiping edges. Available in white (MDPE) to support UV and general materials or natural (LDPE) for easy insertion into cartridges.
